Fishtales Café, situated right in the heart of Warrnambool’s restaurant precinct, has become something of an institution in the area. Busy, bustling with a great happy vibe, Fishtales has been producing fantastic coffee and wonderful, quality food with flavours from around the globe for the last 21 years. We cultivate a relaxed atmosphere with a fun, diverse menu with more than 250 selections cooked to order. Our aim is to provide quality, affordable food and beverages served to our patrons with friendly and professional service.
From small beginnings in 1994 as a gourmet takeaway fish and chip shop, Fishtales has transformed into a bustling business that employs more than 40 people. We are proud of our incredible staff, who are like family. We bring a lot of personality to the table with our friendly staff and colourful menu options.
Diverse Menu Selections
Order from any of our huge menus any time during the day. We can cook whatever you like from 6 am until late, seven days a week. Whether you have strict dietary restrictions or just prefer your meals prepared a certain way, our chefs can accommodate guests with all eating habits. Our menu features vego, vegan, paleo, sugar-free, gluten-free and meat options, so everyone will be full and satisfied. If you have certain dietary restrictions, feel free to ask our friendly staff about our meals and drinks. Our menu features everything, including breakfast, Asian, Mediterranean, steaks, vegetarian, fresh seafood, short order items, burgers and fantastic fish and chips. Get a bit adventurous with flavours from across the globe, and enjoy great coffee and smoothies from our drink bar. Our delicious menu items are also available for catering.

Our dynamic café has indoor and outdoor dining options. We can accommodate 70 guests indoors and another 30 with our street front dining, which is perfect for people-watching. Enjoy your meal out in our courtyard where we can fit more than 100 guests.
Fishtales is a wonderful hanging space and has been used as a gallery on numerous occasions for local and visiting artists. We are available for large group bookings, and our space avails itself as a venue for fundraising events.
